2/2/2024 0 Comments Dart train schedule carrollton![]() ![]() The 26-mile Silver Line segment will traverse seven cities, including Carrollton, Addison, Coppell, Dallas, Grapevine, Plano, and Richardson. DART representatives will be on hand to outline the latest design and construction developments and answer your questions. Until then I guess I’ll just keep driving down to the end of the DART line.Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) invites citizens to attend an in-person biannual community meeting to review the progress of the DART Silver Line Regional Rail Project along the Historic Cotton Belt Corridor. When the DCTA becomes able to serve all the public with a complete schedule then maybe I’ll get to use the A-train. I know DCTA cannot afford to run when they can’t make money, but I cannot afford to spend a fourth of my day waiting to connect with them either. Any trip into the evening has been impossible because the A-train stops service way too early, even on weekends. The occasional trips from Lewisville into Dallas (there is nothing I have yet found that I might want to do in Denton for which DCTA is useful) that I have taken are not at normal job commuting times.Įvery time I check the A-train schedule I find it will add multiple hours to my trip because using it will require me starting my trip very much ahead of time and give me a very long wait for it to come back. I am not a regular Monday through Friday daytime commuter, which seems to be the only type of passenger the A-train is really designed to serve. Jim Barnhart, Lewisville: So far I have not been able to utilize the A-train. A lot more thought and public input could have created a more sensible and safe transit system. What brainiac came up with the idea for the A-train to leave the Trinity Mills station right when the DART train is arriving? Even if the DART is a bit late, it would make sense for the A-train to wait for transferring passengers. The scheduling between the A-train and DART is a joke, too. Also, if the transit police would actually ride the trains consistently, riders would feel safer and more people would use the trains. Controlled access by means of elevated stations and monitored turnstiles to gain access to the stations would have greatly reduced the crime and general mayhem common on our system. It should have been more closely modeled after the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit with its controlled access to the trains as compared with the open nature of the A-train and DART. It is a great way for a day outing.Įric Edwards, Lewisville: I think the commuter rail service is a great idea, but I think very poorly planned and implemented. We are able to take the train to within a couple blocks of the library and, by connecting to the trolley, get right to the park. Bush Library soon and hope to visit the Kyle Warren Park. My wife and I plan to visit the George W. We had lunch at Café Express on McKinney Avenue and returned home. Recently, we had visitors and took them into Dallas utilizing A-train and DART and rode the McKinney Street Trolley. But with regional day passes, it is one of the best bargains in Texas. The system ranks with other large urban rail systems, but the stops leave it lacking.ĭwayne Collins, Flower Mound: Unfortunately, I do not get to use the A-train as often as I would like. Most of the stops are too far from the places that you want to go, and you have to connect by bus, cab or long walks in areas you are not familiar with. If D-FW was really serious about rail, they would rethink their stops. But like the DART system in general, it was designed to take advantage of existing rail infrastructure, rather than being designed to connect to points of interest. ![]() They could make their website a little more user friendly with larger type and also include the DART Green Line schedule since that is what the A-train links to, saving the trouble of having to open DART's website.ĭoug Fulmer, Flower Mound: I ride the A-train periodically, mostly connecting to DART to go downtown. Paul LeBon, Highland Village: I have ridden it several times to events at the American Airlines Center and also once to the Bush Presidential Library at SMU. ![]()
